A growing not for profit organisation which provides health services to people in the community is seeking a Personal Care Assistant to join the Community Aged Care Packages team here in Darwin. The Community Aged Care Packages (CACP) team carry out individualised planned and coordinated care services designed to meet older people's daily care needs in the community and provide case management to elderly and frail people with low support needs living independently in their home.

Your day could look like this! Seeing 3-4 clients per day, spending 1-2 hours with each client, assisting with domestic duties such as washing, vacuuming, mopping of floors, simply having a coffee and a chat with the client, offering social support to client- perhaps taking the client grocery shopping or driving them to an appointment or simply checking on your clients wellbeing, and reporting to the team leader any safety risks and concerns in regards to client welfare.

• Empathy, compassion and a friendly manner;
• Ability to work 3 days per week, Monday - Friday- ideally Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 8:30- 2:30pm;
• A current police clearance check;
• Experience working with elderly clients and a sound understanding of the issues faced by older people living at home;
• Reliability, be on time, have a good sense of direction and be able to read a map;
• Current drivers licence and own reliable vehicle;
• A certificate III in community or aged care is desirable but not essential.
