Aspect Personnel have teamed up with a municipality located in the inner eastern suburbs of Melbourne to help them find a qualified and experienced Town Planner. After recently sourcing a senior member for their Statutory Planning department my client is now searching for an intermediate planner who can help alleviate a backlog of work. This 3 month contract role has the potential to turn into a permanent position with the General Manager soon to sign off on the additional post. Your main responsibilities will be: - To provide timely and accurate advice to developers, and the general public in relation to the interpretation and implementation of the Victorian Planning Schemes, relevant acts ie. Planning and Environment act, Subdivision act, and council policies and practices.
- To appear as an advocate on behalf of the Council at VCAT and panel hearings.
- To make recommendations to the Statutory Coordinator on all planning permits under consideration so that information is available to make quality approval decisions.
- Contribute to weekly team meetings by discussing and providing advice on new comprehensive planning applications that come through.
